Professor Ingrid Mattson will receive an honorary Doctor of Law degree from Trinity College in Hartford, CT, at commencement exercises on May 20. She will be awarded the degree for her service to Islamic communities worldwide, her distinguished scholarship, and her commitment to fostering social progress in the Islamic world and cooperation between that world and other cultures. The release of Professor Miriam Therese Winter’s new CD, "Loving You, A celebration of All Creation," and her songwriting is recognized in this article.  Also, Professor Winter has written a reflection on her service in Ethiopia during a famine in 1985.

 

A Festchrift is being published in honor of Wayne G. Rollins, Adjunct Professor of Biblical Studies. The volume of writings, titled "Psychological Hermeneutics for Biblical Themes and Texts," will be published in June by T and T Clark International (order here). The Festchrift honors Dr. Rollins' inauguration in 1991 of a research section on "Psychology and Biblical Studies" at the Society of Biblical Literature. A formal presentation of the Festchrift will take place during the 2012 meeting of the International Society of Biblical Literature in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in July. Dr. Rollins will present on "Psychology and Biblical Studies in 2012: Retrospect and Prospect" at the meeting.
